Sir András Schiff

Sir András Schiff is not one for razzle dazzle. Brilliance and virtuosity are buzzwords that are of little relevance to his artistic understanding. In his interpretations the pianist goes into the depths. Schiff is always searching for the core of the matter, for the essence of life. He wants to convey his insights to the audience: with sounds, but also with words. That is why he presents his concerts, makes connections and explains why he has chosen the works he is playing. The programme is not announced in advance. At Klosters Music, the renowned pianist will be giving two consecutive recitals for the first time, each with a different programme. Schiff dedicates the first concert to Schubert’s compositions. “Schubert’s music is the most human music I know,” says Sir András Schiff.

Both concerts will take place in St. Jacob’s Church. Its atmosphere is unique, the audience becoming a listening congregation.
