Buy ticketsCuriosity, passion, delight in playing music – all this is associated with the ensemble “La Scintilla” (The Spark), which will performing on historical instruments. The musicians of Zurich Opera in this group here have been passionate about early music for over 25 years. Concertmaster and founding member Ada Pesch, together with our artistic director David Whelton, have put together an attractive programme for Klosters Music, which begins with the Concerto Grosso Op. 6 No. 1 by Händel and, together with Pachelbel’s Canon and the Concerto for two violins in D minor by Bach, contains some veritable baroque hits. Between these orchestrated pieces, Andreas Jost, professor of organ at the Zurich University of the Arts and organist at the Zurich Grossmünster Cathedral, will be playing solo works by Bach and, at the end, Händel’s onomatopoeic organ concerto “The Cuckoo and the Nightingale” as well as “La Scintilla”.
The Orchestra La Scintilla will play at the front of the stage.
