New Year’s Concert 2027 | From Venice to Buenos Aires

The baroque splendour of Vivaldi meets the passionate rhythms of Argentine tango. On Sunday, 3 January 2027, Klosters Music welcomes the Gabetta Consort to the Church of St. Jakob for its New Year’s Concert. Together with soprano Marina Viotti and bandoneon player Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi, violinist Andrés Gabetta takes the audience on a musical journey from the Italian Baroque to the tango nuevo of Astor Piazzolla. Works by Vivaldi and Piazzolla, alongside Luca Salvador’s «Ouverture: Tango-Baroque», bring together two musical worlds that may seem worlds apart, yet share the same passion.

Starting the violin making competition

On 1 October, the call for entries will open for the violin-making competition, which is to be held for the first time as part of the Klosters Music Violin Summit 2027. Violin makers from all over the world are invited to engage with the Guarneri del Gesù ‘Sainton’. Drawing on detailed documentation, they will create facsimiles and original interpretations of the historical instrument.
