SWEEPING GRANDEUR

For health reasons, Miloš Karadaglić is unfortunately obliged to cancel the concert “Echoes of the Guitar” scheduled for 5 August. We are pleased to present an equally high-calibre replacement programme, devised by Artistic Director David Whelton:
You can look forward to two masterpieces of the piano trio repertoire: Franz Schubert’s Piano Trio No. 1 in B-flat major and Ludwig van Beethoven’s renowned “Archduke Trio”, performed by Rainer Honeck (violin), Julia Hagen (cello), and Herbert Schuch (piano) – three outstanding artists who captivate with their expressiveness, sensitivity, and musical intensity.

Antonello Manacorda about the Opening Concert 2026

Antonello Manacorda makes his debut at Klosters Music with the Camerata Salzburg, turning to Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, a work he rightly considers an icon. «From just two notes and a simple rhythm, something unforgettable emerges», he says of the famous motif. At the piano, the young Viennese pianist Lukas Sternath performs Mozart’s Piano Concerto in D minor, K. 466. Manacorda regards him as an exceptionally mature and thoughtful musician, describing their collaboration as «a pure pleasure». In the interview, he also speaks about his connection to Switzerland and why this programme holds particular significance for him.

MASTER SINGER

Sir Bryn Terfel is a true master singer. On 3 August, he will be giving an evening concert at Klosters Music together with other guests. In this interview the baritone speaks about his Welsh roots, exciting villains and his musical versatility:
“As an added bonus, we also have a choir for this evening, which then gives me a multitude of options, from folk music to opera to
music theatre. The Welsh and the Swiss in total harmony, with music being that bridge for some very interestring possibilities.” - Sir Bryn Terfel
