A majestic splendour surrounds Klosters Music’s first church concert of the new year – and not just because it begins with the festive piece “The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba” from George Frideric Händel’s oratorio “Solomon” for two trumpets and organ.
The young, highly talented Swiss violinist Ilva Eigus adds a special touch to the programme. In Antonio Vivaldi’s Concerto in B flat major, her refined, warm violin tone combines with Immanuel Richter’s radiant trumpet sound to create a fascinating dialogue full of splendour and grace. Another highlight is provided by Swedish soprano Jennifer Högström, who performs Vivaldi’s “Domine Deus” with heartfelt expression, with her clear, luminous voice and fine sense of style. In Johann Sebastian Bach’s brilliant solo cantata “Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen” (Shout for Joy to God in All Lands) she joins forces with Immanuel Richter and Kay Johannsen to create a truly sparkling coloratura.
The organ also has its special place in the programme: in the two “Noëls” by Louis Claude Daquin, selected and interpreted by Kay Johannsen, Christmastime echoes with playful elegance and delicate colours.
In addition to Zurich trumpet professor Immanuel Richter, the exceptionally talented 17-year-old Simon Gabriel from Engadin will also be performing – together they will play the festive trumpet works of this varied and colourful evening.

The musicians are playing on the gallery.

Seat-by-seat advance ticket sales will open on October 18, 2025.
