
COSMOS BACH: MASTER CLASS FOR ORGAN

Klosters Music offers within its series of church concerts a one-day master class for organ. This public master class will take place on Saturday, 13th September 2025 in St. Jakobs Church. The church has a Goll organ (built in 2019) with a rich disposition offering 28 registers and a colourful sound palette all of its own.

Benjamin Righetti is the titular organist of the Saint-François Church and a lecturer at the Conservatory of Lausanne and Haute Ecole de Musique of Lausanne, HEMU. He also performs regularly all over the world, with over 800 concerts to date and recordings for CD, radio, television and the Internet. He loves the mountains and the lakes and is also editor of the orgue art website.
He tries to combine all these numerous activities with conscientiousness and joy.
Master class
Up to six students will be taught individually by Benjamin Righetti in the presence of the other students. The repertoire includes works mainly by the composers J. S. Bach and F. Mendelssohn, as well as other baroque and romantic pieces. During the classes, the focus is on technical aspects of the instrument as well as musical aspects, and the students can furthermore gain experience of playing in public.

Individual departure
There will be opportunities to practise on the organ in St. Jakobs Church at certain times on 12 September in the afternoon and evening after the recital, as well as on Saturday between the lessons and the final concert.
Course participation and fees
The master class is primarily intended for students on bachelor’s and master’s degree courses, as well as students on a foundation course to study music at university. The required repertoire includes works by J. S. Bach and at least one movement of a work by F. Mendelssohn. Participants will be chosen by the lecturer, Benjamin Righetti. There is no fee for registration or the course itself.
Arrival and accommodation
Arrival will be on Friday, 12 September by midday. The cost of travelling is the responsibility of the participants. Klosters Music organises the accommodation (two nights in a single room including half board for a total of CHF 160).
