The upcoming festival, taking place from 31 July to 9 August 2026, will feature distinguished artistic figures such as the baritone Sir Bryn Terfel, the guitarist Miloš, the recorder player Maurice Steger and the pianist Sir András Schiff, who has shaped the festival from its very beginning. “It has been a great pleasure to guide Klosters Music from its first edition to an extremely successful, ambitious and distinctive summer music festival with a growing and loyal audience,” says David Whelton, who will hand over the artistic direction of Klosters Music to Christoph Müller after the upcoming edition.

New Year’s Concert – Cheer and Rejoice

A majestic splendour surrounds Klosters Music’s New Year’s Concert – and not only because it opens with the festive “Arrival of the Queen of Sheba” from Handel’s oratorio “Solomon” for two trumpets and organ.
On Saturday, 3 January 2026, at 6.15 pm in the Church St. Jakob in Klosters, a programme full of baroque colours unfolds with works by Handel, Vivaldi and Bach. Trumpet, violin and voice bring a warm and festive atmosphere to the winter evening.

Christoph Müller to become Artistic Director of Klosters Music from 2027

On 1 November 2026, the Basel-based cultural manager will succeed David Whelton, who will step down as Artistic Director after the upcoming festival (31 July – 9 August 2026). From 2027, Müller will launch an additional innovative project as part of Klosters Music: the “Klosters Fine Violin Summit”, which combines music and the art of violin making.
