A clumsy waiter who, nevertheless, moves extremely skilfully on roller skates and wins the heart of his beloved through his riding skills.

Charlie Chaplin’s “The Rink” from 1916 was shown all over Europe from France to Italy and Spain to Finland and made Chaplin the most famous actor of his time. With “One Week” (1920) by slapstick genius Buster Keaton, and “Big Business” (1929) with comic legends Laurel and Hardy, Klosters Music presents two more titles from the first half of the 20th century which take us back into the Golden Era of silent film when film music reached new heights. The City Light Orchestra, which has already ensured a soldout Arena Klosters for “Cinema Paradiso” and “Singin’ in the Rain” in the past, will bring Carl Davis’ music to life in a chamber orchestra setting: between Broadway and coffee house, between symphonic sound and jazz. The silent film sounds!
