Music of various styles that is unaffected, original, ravishing, surprising and poignant awaits you in the Festival tent. Almost out in the open air and in an informal atmosphere, the various formations perform in a loose sequence. Standing or sitting on benches, preferably with a glass in your hand, you can enjoy the programme sections individually or as a connected whole.

Program 2nd August 2019

2.00p.m.
Alphorners Davos Klosters
The alphorn more or less lost its original role in the mountains, but as a musical instrument it won the hearts of the listeners and became a symbol for Switzerland. It is fitting to open the three days of Interludes concerts in the festival tent with the near-natural and unique sounds of the Alphorn – in the spirit of its original role, communication.  We are happy to welcome the local Alphorners. The group consists of alphorn players from the Davos-Klosters region.

From 2.15p.m.
Ian Smith & Virtual Jazz Reality
If you missed Ian Smith & Virtual Jazz Reality on the Madrisa, you have another chance to enjoy the skills of this outstanding jazz trumpeter and his band VJR.  Their repertoire ranges from light jazz to highly modern virtuoso original compositions. VJR has worked with numerous well-known artists such as Pavarotti, Jonathan Butler, Shirley Bassey, Anastasia and many more.

4.30p.m.
Musikgesellschaft Madrisa Klosters-Dorf
The music societies have an important place in Switzerland’s musical tradition. They are a fundamental part of customs and social life and are often the first contact for young people with music. We look forward to the performance of a local music society becoming a tradition at the Interludes. Today the music society Madrisa Klosters-Dorf has 24 active members and regularly plays at music events. It is conducted by Simon Bühler from Pragg-Jenaz.
