Bringing early music to life and charging it with energy –

that was what the members of the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra wanted when they founded it in 1987. Historical performance practice as a vitamin jab! The orchestra plays standing up. The musicians are involved with their whole bodies and move to the rhythms. Artistic director Gottfried von der Goltz is a man of the moment and, at the concert master’s desk, celebrates 800 years of Klosters and the orchestra’s 35-year anniversary with a lavish baroque festival. Francesco Corti, professor of historical keyboard instruments at the renowned Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, will make Johann Sebastian Bach’s Harpsichord Concerto in D minor shine. Georg Friedrich Händel’s “Water Music” and other Baroque concerti are further highlights on the festive programme. This party is not to be missed.
