Photos of the Hungarian pianist are not to be found on the covers of glossy magazines. Vanity is alien to him. In his piano playing, too, he is never preoccupied with appearances, but always immerses himself in the essence of the compositions. Klosters Music is pleased that the highly esteemed pianist has been at the festival from the beginning: a most welcome constant in the concert programme! At his cleverly conceived piano recitals, the audience becomes a devout congregation listening to the nuances that the pianist elicits from the concert grand. What he plays is secondary. Schiff knows how to uncover new layers in every great work of piano literature. This is why the exceptional musician has Carte Blanche for the final concert of the festival.
